Geumcheon-gu Hosts Innovation Award, 'AI Anbudundeun Service' Selected as Best
Selected as the Best Case of Social Safety Net Utilizing Information and Communication Technology: 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Anbu Dundeun Service'
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it held the '2023 Geumcheon Innovation Awards.' The 'Geumcheon Innovation Awards' is a competition to discover innovative cases in district administration and promote them within the organization as excellent examples of innovative administration.
Among the 24 innovation cases submitted by each department, the final 10 outstanding cases were selected through the first evaluation (70%) by a panel consisting of public officials and Geumcheon residents, and the second online voting (30%) held from November 6 to 15.
The 'Grand Prize' was awarded to the Welfare Policy Division's 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Anbu Dundeun Service.' The 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Anbu Dundeun Service' is a social safety net aimed at preventing solitary deaths.
It is the first service nationwide to comprehensively utilize information and communication technologies such as electricity usage, communication information, and care apps to detect crisis signals in high-risk groups for solitary deaths and provide 24-hour emergency dispatch. This case improved the existing welfare check service, which had difficulties in immediate dispatch from the community center during nights, weekends, or holidays, through public-private cooperation.
Since its operation began in April this year, 1,644 welfare checks have been conducted for 200 households, with a total of eight emergency on-site dispatches to confirm the safety of the subjects.
The 'Excellence' awards went to the Resident Safety Division's 'School Zone Smartphone Usage Restriction Service,' which blocks app usage during commuting to protect elementary school students' safety, and the Road Division's 'Installation Project of Road Heating Cables in Snow Removal Vulnerable Sections.' Additionally, seven other projects were selected for 'Encouragement' awards.
