Tourist Taking Photos on Jeju Cliff Falls... "Serious Injury with Fractures"
A tourist in their 50s was seriously injured after falling while taking photos near the cliff by Oedolgae, a famous coastal tourist spot in Jeju.
According to the Seogwipo Coast Guard on the 26th, at around 9:50 a.m. the previous day, Mr. A (in his 50s, from Seoul) fell 8 meters down from a cliff near Oedolgae in Seohong-dong, Seogwipo City.
Mr. A was rescued by the coast guard and fire authorities who responded to the report and was transported to a hospital. At the time of rescue, he was suspected to have a head hemorrhage and multiple fractures.
The coast guard believes that Mr. A lost his balance and fell while taking photos on the cliff known as the "Hill of Storms" near Oedolgae.

A Seogwipo Coast Guard official said, "Recently, accidents of people falling while approaching cliffs to take 'life photos' have been occurring frequently," adding, "Safety is more important than beautiful photos." He further emphasized, "Approaching cliffs to take photos should never be done."
