Lee Jun-seok "Would Lim Young-woong's fans come 4 hours early just to see me?" dismisses controversy
Controversy Over Event Held on Same Day and Venue as Lim Young-woong Concert
Former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok rebutted the controversy over the overlapping dates and venues of singer Lim Young-woong's Daegu concert and his own talk concert, calling it a "forced controversy."
On the 24th, Lee wrote on Facebook, "These days, there are many articles made just to criticize forcibly," adding, "The event starting at 2 p.m. and the concert starting at 6 p.m. have clearly different entry times, and is it such a special thing to hold an event at Daegu EXCO? Moreover, it's an indoor event, so what's confusing?"
Earlier, some netizens raised suspicions that Lee deliberately chose the same venue as singer Lim Young-woong's Daegu concert to disguise the crowd gathered for Lim as his own, as the dates and locations overlapped. When some media outlets reported this as a 'controversy,' Lee refuted it.
Lee is scheduled to hold a talk concert at the Daegu EXCO West Hall Auditorium on the 26th. Attendees include People Power Party lawmaker Heo Eun-ah, Suncheon Gap district party committee chairman Cheon Ha-ram, Gyeonggi Province lawmaker Lee Ki-in, and former Supreme Council member Kim Yong-tae.
The venue has 1,572 tiered seats and mainly hosts cultural events or small-scale performances. According to the EXCO website, the event titled "Our Concerns for a Better Future" will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the day.
On the same day at 6 p.m., singer Lim Young-woong's Daegu concert will take place in EXCO East Hall 5 and 6. This performance is the last of Lim's three-day Daegu concert series starting from the 24th. According to his agency, Mulgogi Music, when ticket sales opened on the 5th of last month, the ticketing site experienced up to 1.2 million hits, and tickets sold out instantly. The concert venue can accommodate up to 8,000 people.
