Kim Sang-hee "Welcome Ruling on Comfort Women Case... State Immunity Principle Should Not Apply"
Kim Sang-hee, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, expressed her welcome regarding the appellate court's decision to overturn the first-instance court's dismissal and fully recognize the claimed amount in the second damages claim lawsuit filed by 'comfort women' victims against Japan in domestic courts.
On the 23rd, Kim said through social media (SNS), "I commend the efforts of all those who have worked hard to establish historical justice, including the sole surviving plaintiff of this lawsuit, Halmeoni Lee Yong-soo."

Kim said, "I also express my gratitude to the court that delivered a just ruling," adding, "It was confirmed again in today's trial that the principle of state immunity does not apply to inhumane illegal acts. Japan should no longer evade responsibility and must immediately comply with the damages ruling."
