First General Meeting of Smart Construction Alliance Held on the 24th
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology announced on the 23rd that the first general meeting of the 'Smart Construction Alliance' will be held on the 24th at KINTEX (Exhibition Hall 1).
The general meeting will begin with opening remarks and a keynote speech, followed by presentations from each committee on this year's achievements and the 2024 operational plans. Afterwards, a Q&A session and open discussion on the direction of the alliance's operations will take place.
Launched in July, the alliance is a consultative body led by large, medium, small, and venture companies (currently 313 participants) that form the smart construction ecosystem under the principle of "private sector leads, government supports," with academia, research institutes, and public entities providing support. It is divided into technical committees and special committees that discuss ways to disseminate technology across six core technologies. The steering committee supports the activities of these committees, while the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport oversees the overall operation of the alliance.
The alliance, composed of seven committees and a total of 22 subcommittees, has so far identified 20 key agendas and 44 tasks for spreading smart construction technology, achieving results such as on-site demonstrations of developed technologies and hosting forums and exhibitions.
Building on these initial achievements, the Smart Construction Alliance plans to derive solutions including institutional improvements for the tasks promoted by each committee next year. Additionally, it will select leading projects by major ordering agencies and implement various corporate support programs such as technology demonstration support, technology introduction, and investment seminars.
