KIOST, Pohang City, and Pohang City Council Sign Agreement for Regional Development Cooperation in Marine and Fisheries Sector
The Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST), Pohang City, and the Pohang City Council signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for "regional development cooperation in the marine and fisheries sector" at Pohang City Hall on the 22nd.
KIOST has been continuously strengthening cooperation with related local governments to address current issues in the marine and fisheries sector.
KIOST stated that, in particular, since Pohang hosts KIOST’s research base, the "Pohang Robot Demonstration Base," substantial outcomes are expected in joint research and talent development in the fields of marine robots and equipment.

A KIOST official said, “Through this MOU, we will actively support solving Pohang City’s marine-related issues and challenges by utilizing the institution’s human resources and infrastructure.”
