Lintner CEO "Encouraging Participation of Companies from China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan"
Europe's largest home appliance and IT exhibition, 'IFA,' will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. Alongside CES in Las Vegas, USA, and MWC in Barcelona, Spain, IFA is considered one of the world's top three electronics and IT exhibitions and is scheduled to be held in Berlin from September 6 to 10 next year.
Life - Eric Lintner, the new CEO of IFA, said at a virtual press conference for global media on the 22nd (local time), "The trend is that future exhibitions cannot be held only in virtual spaces," adding, "To celebrate the 100th anniversary, we plan to create events not only at the exhibition hall but also throughout Berlin so that visitors to IFA can enjoy themselves."

View original imageWhile CES focuses on a wide range of IT and consumer technology and MWC centers on IT and mobile communication ecosystems, IFA is an event focused on home appliances. In the past, IFA has showcased the first color TV, Walkman, and OLED TV.
CEO Lintner said, "We want to encourage participation from companies in China, as well as Korea, Japan, and Taiwan," adding, "I recently visited Korea and Japan, and there is great potential there." He also said, "Next year, we hope more visitors will come to IFA than this year."

Earlier, the IFA held from September 1 to 5 featured over 2,000 companies from 48 countries, making it the largest ever. Visitors numbered approximately 182,000 from more than 150 countries. Among all companies, Chinese companies were the most numerous with 1,279, followed by 226 German companies and 174 Korean companies.
