Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants Hosts the 7th ESG Certification Forum
The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on the 23rd that it held the "7th ESG Certification Forum."
Held on the 21st, this forum was conducted in a reading session format for the first time, with the theme "Implementation of TCFD Recommendations and Scenario Analysis Guidelines for Non-Financial Companies."
In the reading session, Kyungsang Park, partner at Han Young Accounting Corporation, and Gyuman Heo, partner at Anjin Accounting Corporation, presented the key contents of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) implementation guidelines. Jaekyung Shim and Jaewook Jung, partners at Samil Accounting Corporation and Samjung Accounting Corporation respectively, presented the key contents of the scenario analysis guidelines for non-financial companies.
Participants expressed positive feedback in a post-event survey, stating, "It was a valuable time to review the key contents of the TCFD guidelines, which are difficult to understand alone, in a short period," and "The concrete examples provided will be very helpful for practical application."

Meanwhile, KICPA is conducting various projects including operating the "ESG Certification Forum," introducing international certification standards, running the ESG Academy, and publishing booklets. Going forward, it plans to widely share the accounting industry's expertise on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) certification with external stakeholders.
