Publication Promotion Institute selects 940 Sejong Books... Purchases worth 8 million KRW each for free distribution
The Korea Publication Culture Industry Promotion Agency selected 940 recommended books in the academic and general knowledge categories for the Sejong Books this year and announced the results on the 22nd. Among the 12,792 submitted titles (2,896 academic and 9,896 general knowledge), 390 academic books and 550 general knowledge books were chosen. The Promotion Agency stated that the selection was made through individual preliminary reviews by recommendation committee members, qualitative and quantitative evaluations by subcommittees, and qualitative evaluations by divisions. The Promotion Agency plans to purchase the recommended books for up to 8 million KRW per title and distribute them free of charge to university libraries, public libraries, and social welfare facilities from the end of this year to early next year.
