'Obscenity Controversy' on Korea University Bulletin Board... Overload Causes Site Crash
Video Posted on Gopas... Site Temporarily Down
"Concerns of Secondary Harm"... "Individual Freedom" Also Argued
A controversy has arisen after a sexual intercourse video was uploaded to a university community exclusively for Korea University students.
On the afternoon of the 20th, a sexual intercourse video between a man and a woman was uploaded to the online community "Gopas," used by current students and alumni of Korea University, causing the server to crash temporarily.
As of 2 PM on the 21st, keywords such as "sexual intercourse" and "junior" are ranked high among the top search terms on Gopas.

The male student who uploaded the video claimed he had the female student's consent and publicly shared the obscene material. Subsequently, an anonymous member reportedly posted similar obscene content again in the comments.
Later, a self-proclaimed law school applicant commented, "I have reported this for the crime of obscenity using a communication medium," sparking heated debates among netizens and causing the site to go down.
The video has since been removed from the site. However, related search terms such as "senior-junior," "senior-junior XXX," and others have ranked high in the real-time search rankings. Search terms implying the woman in the video have also circulated, raising concerns about "secondary victimization of the woman."
The shocking video has led to widespread concern about "secondary victimization" of the woman within the online community. A user named A, who posted on the community, said, "Even a practicing lawyer has appeared, debating whether there is no charge or not, and keyboard battles are raging in the comments. It's truly chaotic."

Netizens commented, "Does the woman’s consent mean she allowed the filming or that she allowed it to be posted on the online community? Either way, it doesn't seem normal," and "There are comments saying it's personal freedom, but does that mean it's okay for a school community to become a pornographic site?"
