"Need to Explore Development Plans for Disabled Esports"… Honam University Esports Department Special Lecture
On the 20th, the Department of eSports Industry at Honam University invited Yeohyeongil, Director of the International eSports Training Center at Woosuk University, as a lecturer to give a special lecture on the topic of "Current Status and Development Plans of eSports for People with Disabilities."
Director Yeohyeongil stated, "There is growing social interest in eSports for people with disabilities, and various competitions are being held. It is expected to be selected as a sport for the 2028 Summer Paralympics, so preparation for qualifications as eSports coaches and referees for people with disabilities in related fields is necessary." He emphasized, "We must continuously expand the domestic infrastructure related to the current competitions, as well as the scale of domestic eSports players, coaches, and referees with disabilities."
Additionally, he introduced the necessary requirements for students in the department to engage in activities and advance into related fields as eSports for people with disabilities expands through future public sports clubs.
