Hwang Ui-jo's Ex-Partner Says "Never Consented to Filming... Continues to Request Deletion"
Hwang Ui-jo, a national soccer team player accused of illegal filming, stated that the filming was consensual, but Hwang's ex-girlfriend denied ever consenting to the filming and claimed she continuously requested its deletion.
On the 21st, Lee Eun-hee, the legal representative of the victim of illegal filming, stated in a press release, "The victim never consented to Hwang's filming," adding, "She expressed her refusal and requested the footage to be deleted after filming." She also said, "Hwang lied, claiming the video was filmed with consent, focusing only on his advantage without reflecting on his wrongdoing," and added, "This has left irreversible wounds and trauma in the victim's heart."
She also mentioned that the victim was unable to report or file a complaint immediately due to fear of the video being leaked. The victim's side said, "All the victim could do was repeatedly ask Hwang to delete the footage," and "Due to fear of leakage, the victim found it difficult to angrily confront Hwang or report him." Furthermore, "At the end of June, Hwang contacted the victim asking her to sue the distributor of the video," and "The victim formally filed a complaint against both the illegal distribution by the distributor and Hwang's illegal filming."
Additionally, "During the detention warrant hearing for the distributor on the 16th, it was surprising from the victim's perspective that the distributor denied the crime and that Hwang's side submitted a letter of no punishment for the distributor," and "Through a statement made by the distributor in court during the detention hearing, it was also revealed that there are suspicions of additional criminal charges against Hwang."
