"North Korea Notifies Japan of Satellite Launch Plan... Between 22nd and Next Month 1st"
North Korea has notified the Japan Coast Guard that it will launch a satellite between the 22nd of this month and the 1st of next month.
NHK reported on the 21st that North Korea informed the Marine Information Department of the Japan Coast Guard of this plan. The areas of concern for falling debris are two locations in the West Sea southwest of North Korea and one location in the Pacific Ocean east of the Philippines, all outside Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida instructed relevant ministries to thoroughly collect and analyze information, provide appropriate information to the public, and cooperate with South Korea, the United States, and others in response, NHK reported. The Japan Coast Guard issued navigation warnings and urged ships to exercise caution.
