Gangdong-gu Enhances Staff Skills Training for Rapid Winter Disaster Response
Conducting Staff Training for Rapid Response to Winter Disaster Sites to Create a Safe Gangdong-gu
Gangdong-gu Mayor Lee Suhee Participates in Training and Inspects Snow Removal Vulnerable Areas
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Su-hee) announced on the 14th that it conducted on-site response capability enhancement training for frontline community center staff to prepare for winter disasters as the cold season rapidly approaches.
Recently, the number of female public officials has been steadily increasing. Accordingly, the district organized the on-site response capability enhancement training to improve disaster response skills regardless of gender and to provide residents with prompt and safe administrative services.
Last year, to improve on-site response capabilities for snow removal during winter, the district conducted administrative cargo vehicle training for community center staff, including new employees. While receiving vehicle training, participants examined snow removal vulnerable areas by neighborhood and gained useful driving tips, which received high praise from the participating staff.
This year as well, practical training was conducted for staff in preparation for the winter season. The training targeted community center employees who are inexperienced in driving cargo vehicles. Emphasizing mobility improvement, the training focused on enabling any staff member to quickly deploy with necessary disaster response supplies such as submersible pumps and calcium chloride during sudden heavy rain or snow to promptly resolve residents' inconveniences.
Last year's training involved 47 employees from 10 community centers, while this year 29 employees from 18 community centers participated. Notably, Mayor Lee Su-hee of Gangdong-gu personally took part in the cargo vehicle driving training, driving herself to inspect snow removal vulnerable points.
