Police to Launch Youth Delinquency Prevention and Guidance Activities After Suneung Exam
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 16th that it will operate the 'CSAT and Winter Vacation Youth Guidance and Protection Activity Period' to guide and protect youth after the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).
Starting from 6 p.m. on the same day, the police will deploy 134 School Police Officers (SPO) affiliated with the Seoul Police Agency to major youth-dense areas such as Hongdae Ipgu Station, Sinchon Station, Gangnam Station, Konkuk University Rodeo Street, and Nowon Station Culture Street to carry out youth guidance and protection activities.
In particular, in the area around Hongdae Ipgu Station, activities involving SPOs as well as local governments, youth development associations, and youth policy advisory groups will be conducted together with the local community. On Hongdae Walking Street, focused guidance and protection activities for at-risk youth will be implemented, and if drinking or smoking is detected, direct guidance activities such as handing over to guardians and sending them home on the spot will be promoted.
Additionally, the police will promote prevention activities against youth addictive crimes such as drug abuse and gambling, as well as cybercrime. Before the winter vacation, they will intensively conduct related preventive education in cooperation with schools, and when at-risk youth are identified, they will link them to specialized institutions to carry out healing and rehabilitation activities concurrently.
