Hamyang-gun Conducts '2023 Traveling Population Education'
Understanding and Building Consensus on the Population Decline Crisis
Gyeongnam Hamyang-gun held the "2023 On-site Population Education" hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in the county office's large conference room, attended by about 100 employees.
The education, conducted on the 15th, was aimed primarily at younger employees to foster understanding and consensus among staff regarding the crisis of population decline due to ultra-low birth rates and ultra-aging, and to cultivate desirable values related to pregnancy, childbirth, and work-life balance.
The session, led by Oh Guk-hee, a population education specialist from the Population and Future Policy Research Institute, focused on the theme "The Role of Local Governments in Responding to Low Birth Rates and an Aging Society." It covered in depth topics such as ▲ causes and issues of population structure changes ▲ theories of local extinction and its impacts ▲ government and local government response directions.
