Busan's First Urban Agriculture Park... Gijang-gun's 'Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park' to Begin Construction at the End of November
One of the major campaign promises of the 8th term of the Busan Gijang-gun administration, the ‘Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park’ project, is set to begin construction at the end of November.
‘Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park’ is Busan’s first urban agriculture park, located in Jangjeon-ri, Cheolma-myeon.
The county will invest a total of 23 billion KRW to create various facilities for urban agriculture so that residents can feel familiar with urban agriculture and enjoy diverse urban agriculture programs, including ▲Happy Urban Agriculture Center ▲Future Agriculture Education Center (Smart Farm) ▲Ecological Learning Center ▲Children’s Learning Garden ▲Healing Agriculture Garden.
Currently, the county is issuing construction contracts and proceeding with the selection process for the construction company, with plans to officially start the construction at the end of November and complete it by October 2024.

County Governor Jeong Jong-bok stated, “Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park, as Busan’s first urban agriculture park, will become a place for harmony within the Busan urban agriculture community through various urban agriculture events and experiential programs,” adding, “We expect Cheolma-myeon, Gijang-gun to firmly establish itself as the mecca of urban agriculture in Busan.”
