Nakdonggangcheong to Hold Communication Meeting with Environmental Impact Assessment Firms on the 15th
Communication Between 45 Companies in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam and Public-Private Sectors
The Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office will hold a communication meeting with environmental impact assessment companies on the 15th at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center.
Environmental impact assessment companies are specialized firms that undertake the preparation of environmental impact assessment reports. A total of 45 assessment companies located in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam are expected to attend this meeting.
Major violations detected during this year's inspection of assessment companies, such as mandatory employment violations of assessors and overdue performance report deadlines, will be shared to prevent similar cases and to urge the prevention of false or inadequate preparation of environmental impact assessment reports.
To strengthen the expertise of assessment companies, training by specialized environmental impact assessment institutions will also be conducted.
The National Institute of Ecology will introduce the ‘EcoBank’ service, an ecological information portal system that allows easy online use of various ecological spatial information.
The Korea Environment Institute will provide training on the ‘National Land Environmental Assessment Map System,’ established for integrated management of national land and environmental planning.
They plan to listen to the difficulties faced by assessment companies regarding the environmental impact assessment system in the field, collect suggestions, and actively reflect them in improving field conditions.
