The products CU is releasing this time include 'Gim Deuktem' and 'Gimbukak Deuktem'. Gim Deuktem is a renewed version of the previously operated Gim Deuktem product, characterized by an increased seaweed content compared to the initial recipe. Gimbukak Deuktem, the company explained, is made by attaching rice paper with glutinous rice paste to seaweed and frying it once more to enhance the crispy texture unique to Gimbukak. In particular, CU added that it plans to explore exports of Gimbukak Deuktem by the end of this year and sell it throughout Mongolia and Malaysia starting early next year.

CU will also launch 'Matbam Deuktem' (seasoned chestnuts). It is about 35% cheaper than CU’s existing seasoned chestnut products of the same weight, and with the 2+1 promotion scheduled for next month, the price per piece drops to about one-third of other products. A BGF Retail official explained, "We planned the Deuktem series so that snacks that have recently gained explosive popularity among foreign tourists can be purchased at more reasonable prices."
