Discovering Korea-Philippines Copyright Cooperation Projects
'Intergovernmental Copyright Meeting and Forum' in Manila
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Copyright Protection Agency, and the Philippine Intellectual Property Office will hold the "Korea-Philippines Intergovernmental Copyright Meeting and Forum" in Manila, Philippines, on the 14th and 15th. During the meeting, both countries will share trends and issues in copyright policies and identify cooperative projects. As a bill granting the Intellectual Property Office the authority to block access to copyright-infringing websites is being discussed in the Philippine Congress, they will consider expanding cooperation areas such as copyright protection technology exchange and joint response to infringements.
The forum will share the latest trends related to copyright laws and systems under the theme "Music Copyright Policy and Activation Strategies in the Digital Environment." It will also discuss ways to strengthen cooperation among music trust management organizations in the new technological environment.
