Starting 1 stroke behind in 2nd place, Villegas swept up 6 birdies without a single bogey. He reduced 4 strokes in the front nine with three consecutive birdies from holes 3 to 5 and a birdie on the 7th hole (par 5), and secured the win with ‘stepping stone birdies’ on holes 15 and 17 in the back nine. His ‘needle-like iron shots’ with a green hit rate of 94.44% and an average of 1.71 putts per hole powered his performance. Villegas is famous for reading greens by crawling like Spider-Man.
