Jungnang-gu Adds Road Heating Cables to Reduce Winter Ice Concerns

Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) held a residents' briefing session on the afternoon of the 10th regarding the additional installation project of road heating cables aimed at ensuring safe walking and vehicle use during the winter season.
The briefing session, held at Mangwoo Majung Village Vitalization Center, was attended by about 30 people including District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi and local residents. The session was organized to explain the current status of road heating cable installations to residents, address their questions, and gather their opinions.
Currently, road heating cables have been installed in 18 locations with high traffic and pedestrian volume or steep slopes, such as near Yongmasan Station, near Sagajeong Station bus stop, and near Hyewon Girls' High School, totaling 1,590 meters in length. There are four additional locations where road heating cables are either under construction or planned to be installed, totaling 360 meters, with the district planning to complete the work by the end of this year.
The district expects that the installation of road heating cables will reduce the use of calcium chloride, preventing corrosion of road facilities, alleviating winter traffic inconveniences, and preventing safety accidents, thereby enabling proactive responses to snowfall and icing.
