SK On Resumes Expansion Construction of Battery Plant in Seosan, Chungnam
SK On will resume the expansion construction of its battery plant in Seosan, Chungnam, starting from the 11th.
On the 10th, SK On held a board meeting and approved the agenda related to the resumption of the expansion construction of Seosan Plant 3.
Previously, SK On temporarily halted the expansion construction of the Seosan battery plant from the 6th. This led to speculation that the company might be slowing down due to the recent slowdown in the electric vehicle market.
SK On explained, "The construction costs related to Seosan Plant 3 require board approval at each stage, and accordingly, the construction was temporarily suspended until the approval of the next stage's costs." They added, "Following the board's approval, construction will resume from the 11th."
In August, SK On announced that it would invest a total of 1.5 trillion won to expand Plant 3 on a 44,152㎡ site within the Seosan Auto Valley Industrial Complex.
