Elevator Safety Contributors Gathered in One Place... Elevator Safety Week Ceremony Held
‘2023 Korea International Elevator Expo’ Also Opens
The Korea Elevator Safety Agency (KoELSA) announced on the 8th that it held the ‘2023 Elevator Safety Week’ commemorative ceremony at the Grand Ballroom of KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Alongside this, the ‘2023 Korea International Elevator Expo’ also opened.
The Elevator Safety Week commemorative ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and organized by KoELSA, brought together government and KoELSA officials, representatives from elevator associations and organizations, academia, industry, and civic groups, creating a platform for collaboration and communication to promote elevator safety and industrial development.
The ceremony featured a variety of events including a video screening under the theme ‘Elevator Safety Together! Industrial Promotion Achieved Together with Elevators!’, awards for contributors to elevator safety and winners of the safety contest, and a safety prayer performance.
The Presidential Citation for Elevator Safety was awarded to ▲Sangsoo Park, CEO of Seongdo Elevator, and ▲Jongdae Kim, officer at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The Prime Minister’s Citation was awarded to Jungwoo Park, CEO of Surim Elevator, and Younghwan Yoo, Deputy Director at KoELSA.
The Minister of the Interior and Safety’s Citation was awarded to 15 recipients including Sangyeon Kim, team leader at Hyundai Elevator; Jaesik Min, CEO of Hanguk Bundong; Kwangil Kim, foreman at Otis Elevator; Yeonhyuk Bang, vice president of Wonshin Elevator; Jongtae Song, CEO of HPNR; Hwansung Park, CEO of EMCC; Yongseop Kim, public official in Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do; Gwanggeun Park, public official in Geochang-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do; Jangil Seo, team leader at the Korea Elevator Association; Changgeun Lee, head of safety management at the Korea Elevator Safety Foundation; Sangwan Kim, deputy director at Incheon International Airport Corporation; Jeongyeol Yang, assistant manager at Seoul Metro; and KoELSA officials Hyunsoo Song, Doyoung Heo, and Yeoseon Jang.
In the elevator safety contest, the short-form category award from the Minister of the Interior and Safety was given to the team named Safe Escalator Life (Jihye Jeong, Jihyun Jeong). The short-form grand prize went to Yeonho Shin, the challenge idea grand prize to Wowhan Film (Jieun Ham, Kyunghun Yoon, Seongeun Jin), the short-form excellence award to Dongeun Kim and Yejin Lee, the challenge idea excellence awards to Chungbuk Safety Guardians (Minho Lee, Dongsu Kim) and Jiwon Kim, who received the Chairman’s Award from the Korea Elevator Safety Agency.
Additionally, appreciation plaques from KoELSA Chairman Yongpyo Lee were presented to the Pacific Asia Elevator Association and representatives including Junho Song, CEO of Korea Eltec; Seungho Kim, CEO of G&P LIFE; Yongjin Park, CEO of Geumgang Engineering; and Minkoo Choi, team leader of Lotte Shopping Department Store Division.
