Hwaseong-si Installs Electric Wheelchair Chargers at Gungpyeong and Jebudo Public Parking Lots
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 7th that it has installed rapid chargers for electric wheelchairs for the mobility-impaired at the representative tourist sites in the area, Gungpyeong Tourist Site and Jebudo Public Parking Lot No. 5.
The city explained that the rapid chargers were installed to secure mobility rights and improve convenience for the mobility-impaired visiting these two locations.
Electric mobility aids such as electric wheelchairs can only be used for about 5 hours after a full charge, which can limit outings and travel for the mobility-impaired. There is also a risk of safety accidents if the wheelchair stops due to sudden battery depletion.
The city added that using the rapid chargers, electric wheelchairs can be charged up to 80% in about 20 minutes.
Hwaseong City plans to secure additional rapid chargers for electric wheelchairs within tourist sites to ensure safe travel for the mobility-impaired using electric mobility aids.
