Yoon: "Senior Cabinet Officials Must Do Their Best to Break Down Walls Between the People and the Government"
Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and Weekly Meeting
President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 6th repeatedly emphasized, "I ask the ministers and other high-ranking officials in the cabinet to continue strengthening direct communication with the public at the grassroots level and do their utmost to break down the walls between the people and the government."
According to the presidential office, President Yoon made this request during his weekly meeting with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo at the Yongsan Presidential Office, where he received reports on the progress of field visits by various ministries.
Earlier, at the Cabinet meeting held on the 30th of last month, President Yoon had urged cabinet members to conduct field visits, saying, "Even if it is something we all know, hearing the voices of the people directly at the site allows us to grasp the essence of the problem more vividly and feel the seriousness more deeply."
At that time, President Yoon emphasized, "There is a huge concrete wall between the government’s high-ranking officials and the people that seems unbreakable even if an atomic bomb explodes. I earnestly hope that even a small crack can be opened in that wall so that the breathing and voices of the people can be partially conveyed."
