Ourhome Receives Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Award at '2023 Excellent Design Product Selection'
Awarded for Reusable 'Reusable Delivery Insulated Lunchbox'
Ourhome announced on the 6th that it received the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Award at the ‘2023 Excellent Design Product Selection’ hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion.
The ‘Excellent Design Product Selection’ has been conducted annually since 1985 under the Industrial Design Promotion Act. It is a system that grants the government-certified GD (Good Design) mark to products with excellent design through fair evaluation. Products are comprehensively assessed based on strict criteria such as aesthetics, originality, usability, environmental friendliness, and economic feasibility. This year, a total of about 1,176 products were submitted, and after evaluation, 80 final products were awarded the main prize.
Ourhome submitted the ‘Reusable Delivery Thermal Lunchbox’ in the living design category of the product design division at this year’s Excellent Design Product Selection and won the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Award. The reusable delivery thermal lunchbox improved thermal insulation by up to 30% compared to existing products through a container design that enhances airtightness and heat retention. Its structure allows assembly in two or three tiers, offering excellent space utilization and enabling various menu configurations to meet customer needs.
It was also highly praised for its eco-friendly aspects, such as ease of recycling. The multi-use container applies eco-friendly insulation material EPP (expanded polypropylene), which not only improved cost efficiency but also reduced waste output, contributing to ESG activities. In fact, using the reusable delivery thermal lunchbox resulted in an annual reduction of approximately 30 tons of waste.
The product’s luxurious design and functional convenience were also recognized. A gray and black tone was applied overall, and a 3D carving pattern technology was used on the surface of the EPP material to enhance sophistication and aesthetics not seen in conventional thermal lunchboxes. Additionally, considering the usability for on-site lunchbox packers, different colors were applied to the lids and tiers of each container for intuitive distinction. The application of a dedicated delivery bag improved convenience and hygiene in lunchbox storage and handling during delivery.

Currently, Ourhome is actively using the reusable delivery thermal lunchbox on-site. The demand for lunchbox delivery exceeds 1,500 meals per day. It is especially utilized in stores where the distance between large-scale production facilities and in-house cafeterias is far. Customers who want to save travel time to the cafeteria and use their lunch break efficiently respond positively. In the future, Ourhome plans to expand its application to office in-house cafeterias after conducting demand surveys.
