AI Civil Service Guidance Robot 'Seongdong-i' Operating at 1st Floor Happy Civil Service Office in District Office
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jung Won-oh) operates the civil service guidance AI robot 'Seongdong-i' to enhance convenience for civil petitioners and provide improved administrative services.
The name 'Seongdong-i' for the 'civil service guidance robot' was finalized through a naming contest last September. This advanced technology-based administrative service project is promoted as Seongdong-gu was selected for the '2023 Service Robot Demonstration Project' by the Robot Industry Promotion Agency. 'Seongdong-i' is placed in the Happiness Civil Service Office on the first floor of the district office building to provide building guidance and civil service convenience to visitors.
'Seongdong-i' uses everyday conversational functions with civil petitioners to guide them through major civil service procedures such as birth registration, document issuance, and passport issuance. It also offers district promotion, introduces tourist attractions within Seongdong-gu, and has a companion function to accompany visitors to their destinations.
Seongdong-gu plans to secure the optimal route and safety of the AI robot 'Seongdong-i' through pilot operation until the end of November and gather user feedback to expand its activities throughout the first floor of the district office building starting in December. Additionally, in December, the robot’s book search and reservation functions, various district promotional news, and video broadcasting functions will be enhanced to continuously improve and provide comprehensive convenience services for residents.
