Continued South Korea-US-Japan Military Cooperation Prompts North Korea to Warn "Nuclear War Will Break Out"
North Korea claimed that the military cooperation between South Korea, the United States, and Japan has "entered an extremely dangerous stage, bringing waves of confrontation and war to the Korean Peninsula and the region."
The Workers' Party organ, Rodong Sinmun, stated on the 5th, "Who can guarantee that the reckless driving of the triangular military alliance cart by the United States and its followers will not lead to the outbreak of nuclear war and the expansion of World War III?"
The newspaper evaluated the South Korea-U.S.-Japan military cooperation as "a typical military bloc that fully serves the realization of the United States' coercive strategy," and claimed, "The main culprits who threaten peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the region and bring the dark clouds of war are the United States, Japan, and their puppets." North Korean state media refer to South Korea as 'puppet.'
The newspaper continued, "We have established the strongest national defense force centered on nuclear power to protect the country's sovereignty and the people's well-being from the aggressive war provocations of the United States and its followers."
