Chairman Wearing an Apron... Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service Communicates with Small Business Owners and the MZ Generation
The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service operated a coffee truck at the Seoul Digital National Industrial Complex on the 3rd as part of its intensive promotion to encourage enrollment in employment and industrial accident insurance.
At this event, Director Park Jong-gil wore an apron and personally served coffee and snacks to workers and small business owners. Various events, including a nostalgic lottery, were also held.
This event was organized to support the advancement of all workers and small business owners who are struggling due to the recent triple challenges (interest rates, exchange rates, and inflation) and to instill the awareness that enrollment in employment and industrial accident insurance is not optional but essential.

During the event period, they provided explanations about ▲ the ‘Blue Seed’ retirement pension fund system for small and medium enterprises ▲ the Durunuri social insurance premium support project ▲ the special employment and industrial accident insurance system for small self-employed business owners, which even business owners can join, and operated a simple counseling center to immediately resolve any questions.
Industrial accident insurance must be subscribed to by all workplaces employing workers. Thanks to the Service’s continuous promotion and intensive campaigns, the number of workplaces enrolled in industrial accident insurance steadily increased, surpassing 3 million for the first time this year.
Accordingly, the Service launched a promotion campaign with the director himself participating to eliminate the remaining blind spots in industrial accident insurance, especially focusing on small-scale workplaces.
Director Park Jong-gil said, “Small business owners are the backbone of our economy and very important,” adding, “This event was organized to communicate, empathize, and convey support so that small business owners can play a dynamic role.”
