Hampyeong-gun Successfully Concludes Poetry Contest Commemorating Korea National Chrysanthemum Exhibition
The '2023 Korea Chrysanthemum Festival Commemorative Poetry Contest and Recitation' was successfully concluded with the participation of many people.
On the 3rd, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the award ceremony and recitation event for the 2023 Korea Chrysanthemum Festival Commemorative Poetry Contest were held on the 2nd at the central plaza of Hampyeong Expo Park.
This poetry contest was held to promote the 2023 Korea Chrysanthemum Festival and to provide a venue for harmony and communication among literary artists.
Especially, since it is an event held during the Chrysanthemum Festival, the themes were 'Autumn Chrysanthemum' and this year's festival theme, 'A Happy Journey for Me in Hampyeong Chrysanthemum.'
The grand prize of the contest was awarded to Lee Yebin, a student at Hampyeong Girls' Middle School, for her poem titled 'The Scent of Chrysanthemum.'
The Excellence Award in the general category went to Yoon Yongseok (Gwangju Metropolitan City), and the Excellence Award in the student category was awarded to Choi Hyunseo of Hampyeong Girls' Middle School.
After the award ceremony, the winners and professional poetry reciters performed readings, receiving great acclaim from tourists visiting the festival.
County Governor Sang-ik Lee said, "Through this poetry contest and recitation event, we had the opportunity to engage with tourists and further promote the county festival," adding, "We will continue to discover and strive to hold various events related to the Chrysanthemum Festival."

Meanwhile, the winning works from this contest are exhibited at the Hampyeong County Art Museum, attracting many students and tourists.
