BGF Retail Q3 Operating Profit 87 Billion KRW... 4.9% Decrease YoY (Comprehensive)

BGF Retail, which operates convenience store CU, recorded a sales growth rate in line with market expectations despite consumer downturn.
BGF Retail announced on the 2nd that its consolidated operating profit for the third quarter of this year was 87 billion KRW, down 4.9% from the same period last year.
Second quarter sales increased by 7.4% to 2.2068 trillion KRW, and net profit also rose 1.0% to 70 billion KRW.
This sales and operating profit are similar to the market forecasts of 2.21 trillion KRW and 87.9 billion KRW, respectively.
The company explained that differentiated products and budget-friendly promotions tailored to the high inflation era showed positive effects, resulting in a sales growth rate that met consensus.

A BGF Retail official said, "Continuous rain in July and increased operating costs acted as performance variables," adding, "In the second half of the year, demand for ready-to-eat foods and winter products is expected to increase, so steady growth is anticipated."
