Modetour "October Overseas Travel Bookings Increase 189% YoY"
Overseas Package Bookings Increase by 304% Year-on-Year
Highest Since February 2019
Modetour announced on the 2nd that the number of outbound travelers for overseas trips in October (including packages and airline tickets) reached approximately 126,000, an increase of about 189% compared to the same period last year.
The number of overseas package reservations excluding airline tickets for departures in October was 84,578, a 304% increase compared to the same period last year. The company explained that this is the highest figure since February 2019, before the outbreak of COVID-19.
By region, Southeast Asia (46%) had the highest share, followed by Japan (25%), China (9%), Europe (9%), and South Pacific & Americas (8%). As autumn sets in and temperatures drop, the number of travelers to the warm, short-distance popular resort area of Southeast Asia increased by 22% compared to the previous month. The overseas package reservation rate for the winter season also continues to rise steadily with 229% in November, 154% in December, and 178% in January next year.

Woo Jun-yeol, Vice President of Modetour, said, "In October, overseas package bookings reached the highest level of the year due to the holidays starting from the Chuseok holiday at the end of September and the designation of October 2nd as a temporary holiday."
