Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Holds Fire Safety Management Meeting for Subway Stations
Gwangsan Fire Station in Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 31st that it held a fire safety management meeting for subway stations in the conference room of the main office on the 30th.
This meeting was organized as part of subway fire safety management following recent fires at Omokgyo Station in Seoul and other locations. Officials from six subway stations and vehicle depots within the jurisdiction participated to share fire prevention and response measures for subway stations.
The main agenda included ▲ sharing response information by agencies in case of fires or other disasters ▲ sharing fire prevention and response measures by subway station officials ▲ plans for operating self-fire brigades ▲ thorough maintenance of fire and evacuation facilities by related personnel ▲ and listening to difficulties faced.

Kim Young-il, Chief of Gwangsan Fire Station, said, “Subway stations are facilities used by an unspecified large number of people, so large-scale damage is a concern in case of disasters. We will do our best to protect citizens' safety through close cooperation and information sharing systems with related agencies.”
