Shinsegae Group announced on the 30th that it will hold '2023 Korea SSG Day,' the largest shopping festival in Korea, with participation from 20 online and offline affiliates starting from the 13th of next month.
Now in its 4th year, SSG Day is an annual event involving all Shinsegae Group affiliates both online·and offline. This year, SSG Day will be held for seven days from November 13 to 19. Twenty major affiliates, from online companies like Gmarket and SSG.com to offline stores such as E-Mart and Shinsegae Department Store, will showcase products worth a total of 1.5 trillion KRW.
Offline store events will take place over three days from the 17th to the 19th, while Gmarket and Auction will conclude their Big Smile Day event, which starts on November 6, with SSG Day during the final week.
SSG Day, first launched in 2019 as a unified event among 16 Shinsegae Group affiliates, has expanded in scale every year. Sales, which were 500 billion KRW in the first year, increased to 700 billion KRW in 2020 and 960 billion KRW in 2021.
This year, the event features up to 50% discounts on food items such as samgyeopsal (pork belly), special SSG Day exclusive home appliance packages planned with Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics (E-Mart), discounts up to 150,000 KRW and daily 20% discount coupons (Gmarket and Auction), up to 15% discount coupons (SSG.com), up to 50% reward lottery on spending (Department Store), up to 50% payback on premium brands (Shinsegae International), SSG Day limited travel and dining packages (The Josun Hotel), and a total of 10 million KRW shopping credit payback (Shinsegae Live Shopping).
Experiential content will also be enhanced to attract customers. Collaborative live broadcasts involving online and offline affiliates, Starfield character, mobility, and Christmas shows, as well as a W Concept premium outlet popup store in Yeoju, have been prepared.
Ahead of the main SSG Day event, Shinsegae Group plans to raise anticipation through online and offline customer participation pre-events starting November 1. On the event page within SSG.com, a joint online event called 'SSG Day Awards' will introduce 40 representative products prepared by each group affiliate and collect customer votes. This event showcases products that Shinsegae Group employees have prepared over the past year for SSG Day.
From the 1st to the 6th, about 20 products from online affiliates such as SSG.com, Gmarket, W Concept, and Shinsegae International (S.I.VILLAGE) will be revealed, and from the 7th to the 12th, about 20 products from offline affiliates including E-Mart, Shinsegae Department Store, Starbucks, and E-Mart24 will be unveiled.
Customers who vote for their most anticipated products will receive scratch card events with shopping credits and lucky draw event entry tickets. The scratch card event offers up to 50,000 KRW in SSG Money, which can be used during the SSG Day event period, with a 100% chance of winning. The lucky draw event includes various prizes from group affiliates such as luxury bags, accommodation vouchers at The Josun Hotel & Resort, S.I.VILLAGE points, Starbucks e-card exchange vouchers, and SSG.com mobile gift certificates, with benefits provided to over 3,500 winners through a draw.
During the SSG Day Awards customer voting period from the 1st to the 12th, a friend invitation event is also available, allowing participants to enter the scratch card event one additional time for each invited friend who votes.

The E-Mart24 Samcheong-dong store will operate as an 'SSG Popup Store' from November 1 to 19, where customers can experience SSG Day. Various customer participation events such as the SSG Day photo zone, SSG Day quiz, and lucky draw will actively promote SSG Day.
