Jeong Eunhwa, Firefighter at Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station, Wins First Place in Stair Climbing Competition
Firefighter Jeong Eun-hwa took first place in the National Firefighters Haeundae LCT Stair Climbing Competition.
The competition was held on the 25th at the Haeundae LCT Landmark Tower, divided into competitive (firefighting gear, light gear, team events) and non-competitive categories.
Participants had to climb 2,372 stairs from the 1st floor to the 101st floor of the Haeundae LCT Landmark Tower.
A total of 895 firefighters from across the country participated, expressing their passion and spending time fostering camaraderie with their colleagues.
Firefighter Jeong recorded a time of 33 minutes and 15 seconds wearing firefighting gear in the competitive individual category, securing first place.

Jeong said, “Every floor was a challenge, but I kept going thinking of the potential victims who might be on the top floor, and I was able to complete the climb without stopping. I will continue to be a reliable firefighter responsible for the lives and safety of the people.”
