Jeoncheongjo Father Also Wanted for Fraud? ...Victim Says "Lost 300 Million Won"
"Approached with a marriage proposal... Disappeared in 2018"
Some victims lost 1.6 billion won in fraud
Claims that part of the damages went to Jeon Cheong-jo
Following the fraud allegations against Jeon Cheong-jo (27), the ex-boyfriend of Nam Hyun-hee (42), a former national fencing athlete, a new victim has come forward claiming to have been defrauded by Jeon’s father as well.
On the 27th, JTBC's 'Case Manager' interviewed a woman, Ms. A, who claimed to have been defrauded of 300 million won by the wanted criminal Jeon Chang-soo. Ms. A revealed that the moment she saw Jeon Cheong-jo’s face on the broadcast, she realized he was Jeon Chang-soo’s son. This was because Jeon Cheong-jo resembled his father a lot, the name Jeon Cheong-jo was unique, and Jeon Chang-soo often showed photos of his daughter.

Ms. A first met Jeon Chang-soo in 2015. At the time, Ms. A was living alone after expanding her restaurant business. She dated Jeon Chang-soo for about two and a half years after he actively courted her. Jeon Chang-soo begged her, saying, "Let’s get married and find land and a house to live in together," and eventually, Ms. A bought a house with her own money.
Jeon Chang-soo’s demands continued thereafter. He suddenly said he wanted to start a business and asked Ms. A to set up an office for him, which she agreed to. Believing they were going to get married, Ms. A trusted him and fulfilled all his requests.
Ms. A said, "Jeon Chang-soo was very kind. He wore clothes worth 3 to 4 million won and carried expensive bags," adding, "He talked as if he was extremely capable." She also said, "He asked me to set up a business for him, so I did. He promised to pay me back the next month, but I was hurt more emotionally than financially." She added, "Jeon Chang-soo and Jeon Cheong-jo are both bad people. They are very eloquent, quite arrogant, and they both spoke very well."
Ms. A said Jeon Chang-soo disappeared without a trace in 2018. She claimed, "There are about 60 people who have been victimized by Jeon Chang-soo. I suffered a loss of 300 million won, and the person who was defrauded the most lost 1.6 billion won."
Later, the victim who suffered the largest loss filed a police complaint against Jeon Chang-soo, leading to his wanted status, but his whereabouts remain unknown. The police even set up a special task force to track him down, but he has not yet been apprehended.
