A driver in his 30s who bit a police officer on the scene
License revoked a month ago for drunk driving
A driver who drove a car onto a pedestrian-only road evaded the police who arrived at the scene, grabbed a passerby he had never met before, and tried to escape but was caught. It was later found that the driver was unlicensed.
On the 26th, the official YouTube channel of the National Police Agency uploaded a video titled 'A Thrilling Crowd Surrounding a Vehicle, Here's Why?'. According to the released video, in the early morning of the 28th of last month, a black SUV entered an alley in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The alley is a vehicle traffic prohibited zone, and dozens of pedestrians were walking along the street at the time.
Among them, the driver entered the alley without paying any attention to the vehicle traffic prohibition sign posted there. A passerby who saw this waved their hand toward the driver to inform them of the vehicle traffic ban, but the driver continued the reckless driving.
Additionally, the driver began to behave dangerously, suddenly reversing in the alley full of people. In response, citizens passing by surrounded the car and pointed fingers at it.
When the police, who had been notified, arrived at the scene, the driver quickly got out of the car. He grabbed the hand of a passerby he did not know and started to run into the crowd. However, a police officer immediately ran over and caught the driver.
The police requested a breathalyzer test, but the driver continuously refused. When asked, "Did you drink and drive?" the driver replied, "I don't know." Then, he said, "I won't take the test," and even bit the police officers.
