[Concall] LGD "Improving Profitability Through Cost Reduction... Smooth Financing"
LG Display cited improved profitability through cost reduction as one of the reasons for expecting a return to profitability in the fourth quarter during the conference call held after announcing its third-quarter earnings on the 25th.
When asked about the possibility of turning a profit, LG Display responded, "We are expecting to return to profitability in the fourth quarter," adding, "We are focusing on cost innovation amid a challenging market environment. If the market situation improves, the current cost-cutting efforts could have a positive impact on the company." They also stated, "We will continuously strengthen our core businesses in line with market demand and business environment, and strive to improve the profit structure through company-wide ongoing cost innovation."
Regarding financial difficulties, the company said, "Due to the nature of the business, investments have continued while returns were limited," and acknowledged, "It is true that our financial strength has been depleted." However, they emphasized, "Among the methods of raising funds, we are still adhering to traditional approaches, so it can be said that we are maintaining stability in funding."
