Jeongeup-si Announces 'Smart Farm Package Support Project' Contest Until the 3rd of Next Month

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk Province is providing a smart farm package that enables environmental control in the facility horticulture sector to young people challenging smart farming.

The city announced on the 24th that it will hold a contest for the ‘2024 Smart Farm Package Support Project’ until the 3rd of next month to encourage young people to settle in rural areas and engage in agricultural management.

This project supports the construction of smart farm vinyl greenhouses linked with ICT convergence equipment and technology capable of complex environmental management, as well as expert consulting and technical education for stable settlement.

The eligible applicants are graduates or expected graduates by June 2024 of the ‘Youth Startup Incubation Center’ at Gimje Smart Farm Innovation Valley aged 18 to 45 as of December 2024, or outstanding young farmers who have completed smart farm education.

Support is provided for up to 2,000㎡ of smart farm greenhouse area per site, with a maximum of 380 million KRW supported out of the 440 million KRW project cost per site.

Applications can be submitted with the required documents at the town, township, or neighborhood community service centers of the project site by the 3rd of next month.

Ko In-gyeong, Director of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Distribution Division, said, “Through the Smart Farm Package Support Project, we will do our best to lead young farmers who will pioneer future agriculture and promote agricultural growth by gradually transitioning to horticultural special crops agriculture that can produce high added value.”
