Jo Hae-jin: "In Yohan, Innovation Committee Chairman, a Good Appointment... Should Be Given Discretion Equivalent to Full Authority"
In response to the defeat in the Gangseo District Office by-election, the People Power Party, which is pushing for reform, has appointed Professor In Yo-han of Yonsei University College of Medicine, the protagonist of the 'first special naturalization,' as the chairman of the Innovation Committee to lead the party's innovation. People Power Party lawmaker Cho Hae-jin emphasized that he should be granted discretion equivalent to full authority, calling it a "well-made appointment."
On the 23rd, Cho said on YTN's "News King with Park Ji-hoon," "He is someone who can explore, from the public's perspective and eyes, how much more our People Power Party can approach the hearts of the people, make the people approach us, and also bear the responsibility of the era as a ruling party, in terms of the party's constitution and system changes," expressing a positive evaluation.

Kim Ki-hyun, the leader of the People Power Party, also announced a policy to "grant full authority to the Innovation Committee."
Regarding whether Professor In could be granted "full authority" like former emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in of the People Power Party, Cho said, "The emergency committee chairman is the party leader and the party representative. Since this person is now the chairman of the Innovation Committee, it is difficult for the Innovation Committee to have authority equivalent to party leadership," but added, "I think he should be given discretion equivalent to full authority in the field of party innovation."
He said, "It must be guaranteed that the proposals made by the Innovation Committee will be submitted to the discussion process that decides the party's intentions, whether gradually or all at once, and if the proposals are reasonable, they should be accepted as they are unless there is a special reason. That would be enough for him to fully express his convictions."
He also emphasized that the party should not follow the same path as the 'Choi Jae-hyung Innovation Committee,' which became ineffective after former leader Lee Jun-seok's downfall. He said, "It should not become like that Innovation Committee. Many good core proposals were made there, but the party did not even put them through the discussion process," adding, "Whether adopted or not, they should have been submitted to party consensus meetings or similar forums for discussion, and whether the whole or part was accepted, the process of acceptance should have been followed, but they were just reported and shelved."

He continued, "The In Yo-han Innovation Committee should not follow that path. If innovation proposals are made there, the party must put them through discussion procedures in party consensus meetings or executive meetings and finalize them as party policy," adding, "If they are just reported and ignored, then it is not an Innovation Committee but an advisory committee."
