Korea Vacuum Metallurgy Submits Preliminary Review Application... KOSDAQ Listing in Full Swing
Korea Vacuum Metallurgy, a specialized advanced metal manufacturing company, announced on the 23rd that it submitted its preliminary listing examination application to the Korea Exchange on the 20th for its KOSDAQ listing. Accordingly, Korea Vacuum Metallurgy has officially entered the listing process. The lead underwriter for the listing is NH Investment & Securities.
Founded in 2003, Korea Vacuum Metallurgy is a high value-added metal manufacturing specialist that has established outstanding competitiveness in the advanced and special metals manufacturing sector. Based on its vacuum melting technology, the company produces advanced metals such as special Ni-based alloys, special Ti-based alloys, and special Cu-based alloys. The produced advanced metals are used as core materials in aircraft and rocket engines, power generation gas turbines, petrochemical plants, nuclear power plant reactors, high-purity sputtering targets for semiconductors, and defense sectors.
Korea Vacuum Metallurgy possesses high-purity vacuum melting and property control technologies and advanced mass production facilities capable of producing advanced metals that require stringent quality standards such as high purity, cryogenic, ultra-high temperature, high strength, and high toughness. The company is equipped with advanced melting facilities including vacuum induction melting, plasma melting, and vacuum arc melting, as well as forging and rolling facilities. Recently, through bold facility investments, it established an electron beam melting facility capable of melting high-purity, high-melting-point metals and installed a wide 4-stand hot rolling mill facility capable of producing the only advanced metal standard plates in Korea.
Based on such unique technology and advanced facilities, the company is leading the localization of advanced metal materials that were entirely dependent on imports. Notably, it completed the localization of the sputtering target, a thin-film deposition material used in architectural insulating glass and semiconductors, and supplies it to major domestic companies. It also succeeded in developing the core material for FMM (Fine Metal Mask), an essential component in OLED display manufacturing. This material is monopolized by Japan’s Hitachi Metals, but Korea Vacuum Metallurgy has secured vacuum melting and inclusion control technology for FMM materials. The company plans to proceed with additional research and development to mass-produce FMM materials.
Korea Vacuum Metallurgy recorded approximately KRW 35.5 billion in sales last year based on its competitiveness in the advanced metals field. Going forward, the mass production effects through the recently established wide 4-stand hot rolling mill are expected to be fully reflected. The company anticipates significant growth in the rocket and aircraft engine materials sector. The rocket propellant material is a product that Korea Vacuum Metallurgy has diligently researched and developed for about 10 years and began supplying to global rocket launch companies last year. A substantial increase in sales is expected.
