Some OurFIS Personnel Transferred to Banks and Card Companies
Woori Financial Group subsidiaries Woori Bank, Woori Card, and Woori FIS (FIS) labor and management have agreed on an organizational restructuring to introduce a new information technology (IT) system.
On the 20th, Woori Financial announced that it held a labor-management agreement signing ceremony for IT governance restructuring at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul. Attending the signing ceremony were Lim Jong-ryong, Chairman of Woori Financial; Cho Byung-kyu, President of Woori Bank; Park Wan-sik, CEO of Woori Card; Ko Jung-hyun, CEO of Woori FIS; Park Bong-su, Chairman of Woori Bank Labor Union; Jang Moon-yeol, Chairman of Woori Card Labor Union; and Lee Ho-sung, Chairman of Woori FIS Labor Union.
The three companies' labor and management held four joint consultations since August, and based on this, held employee briefings and drafted a joint agreement.
In July, Woori Financial announced that it would transition the major IT development and operation tasks previously handled by Woori FIS to be directly performed by the bank and card company. Through this, the plan is to integrate the planning and IT operations of the bank and card company to strengthen digital competitiveness. By operating an agile organization where business and developers collaborate from the planning stage, they aim to secure agility and expect to resolve organizational and personnel redundancies through direct operation by the bank and card company. For this purpose, some FIS personnel may be transferred to the bank and card company.
