Kumho Construction Wins Contract for Part of Daesan-Dangjin Expressway Worth 134.5 Billion KRW
Kumho Construction announced on the 20th that it has been selected as the successful bidder for the "Expressway No. 30 Seosan-Yeongdeok Line Daesan-Dangjin Section Construction Project (Section 4)" commissioned by Korea Expressway Corporation. With this project win, Kumho Construction's public construction order volume for this year has increased to 312.2 billion KRW.
Section 4 is part of the "Daesan-Dangjin Expressway," with a project cost of 134.5 billion KRW. Kumho Construction holds a 90% stake in this project. The Daesan-Dangjin Expressway is a 25.36 km long highway connecting the Daesan Petrochemical Complex and the Dangjin Junction on the Seohaean Expressway. The opening is scheduled for 2030.
The Section 4 construction, entrusted to Kumho Construction, is a highway connecting Sinshiri in Jeongmi-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungnam Province, and Sagisodong, Dangjin, Chungnam Province. It is a 4-lane highway with a length of 4.11 km, including 12 bridges and civil engineering works encompassing the Dangjin Junction. The construction period is approximately 84 months after groundbreaking.
Meanwhile, in the housing sector, Kumho Construction is launching a new apartment complex in Dobong-dong, Seoul. The "Dobong Kumho Eoullim River Park" is located between Dobong Station and Banghak Station on Seoul Subway Line 1. It consists of 5 buildings ranging from 2 basement floors to 18 above-ground floors, with a total of 299 units sized between 59 and 84 square meters, of which 130 units will be offered for general sale.

Kumho Construction also stated that its financial situation is improving. A Kumho Construction representative explained, "Through a conservative accounting approach, we have preemptively reflected losses, so the current figures are not favorable. However, from a mid- to long-term perspective, we expect a rebound in operating profit in the future."
