Geumyang International Launches Art Label by Artist Park Seon-gi for Italian Brand 'Michele Ciarllo'
On the 20th, Kumyang International, a comprehensive liquor company, announced the release of two art label wines created in collaboration with world-renowned Korean artist Park Seon-gi and the leading Italian winery ‘Michele Chiarlo’.
Michele Chiarlo is a representative winery of Piedmont, belonging to the Grandi Marchi, an association of premium Italian brands. The wine labels feature the beautiful landscapes and history of the Michele Chiarlo winery. Beyond the labels, Michele Chiarlo is also known as an art winery, having established the ‘La Court Art Park,’ which attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually.
This collaboration with artist Park Seon-gi is a product exclusively launched for the Korean market. The label utilizes Park Seon-gi’s signature artwork, which depicts charcoal suspended in the air in various images. ‘Charcoal’ represents the final cycle of a tree’s life and, once ignited, marks the beginning of fire (energy), symbolizing the natural cyclical meaning of fire and energy.
This natural cyclical meaning is expressed in the ‘Michele Chiarlo Barolo DOCG’ with the ‘Miami’ drawing, and in the ‘Michele Chiarlo Gavi DOCG’ with the ‘Flowerpot’ drawing, allowing viewers to fully appreciate Park Seon-gi’s artwork, reminiscent of an oriental painting. The Michele Chiarlo art labels embody the harmony with nature emphasized by both Park Seon-gi and Michele Chiarlo, where nature and art are encapsulated in the wine.
The Michele Chiarlo Barolo DOCG features powerful tannins and texture from the Nebbiolo grape variety, which transform into delicate tannins through bottle aging, allowing one to experience the elegance of Barolo, known as the ‘King of Piedmont wines.’ The Michele Chiarlo Gavi DOCG, known as the ‘White Barolo,’ is Piedmont’s representative premium white wine, characterized by delicate and fragrant aromas of green apple and white flowers, along with a fresh acidity that makes it an attractive wine.
A representative from Kumyang International stated, “This art label series is a wine born from the meeting of two artists from Italy and Korea. We hope consumers will appreciate the excellent portfolio of Michele Chiarlo, which produces wines only from the finest vintage grapes.” They added, “To commemorate the launch, a special case featuring the art label will be offered in limited quantities starting November, adding to its rarity.”
