Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold the ‘Yeongdeungpo Network Arts Festival,’ which connects artists and residents through art.
Now in its fifth year, the ‘Yeongdeungpo Network Arts Festival’ consists of the art festival ‘Mullae Creative Village Arts Festival’ and the art exhibition ‘Yeongdeungpo Art Festa.’ The festival was organized to provide cultural artists with opportunities for solidarity with the local community and continuous artistic activities.
In particular, the ‘Mullae Creative Village Arts Festival’ will feature exhibitions, performances, art markets, and docent tours centered around Mullae-dong. Mullae-dong, home to a machinery and metal complex, has become a tourist attraction with a unique and distinctive atmosphere where technology, culture, art, and food coexist in the city center, attracting young artists and cafes and restaurants with retro vibes.
From the 20th to the 22nd, centered at Sulsul Center, a culture space for art and technology convergence, the festival will present ▲ ‘Gallery Network Exhibition’ showcasing artworks and performances ▲ ‘Open Studio’ opening studios and creative processes ▲ ‘Performances’ including classical music, band performances, and readings ▲ ‘Art Market’ selling small items made directly by artists from Mullae-dong and Yangpyeong-dong ▲ ‘Docent Tour’ where the village becomes a museum.
Special one-day classes are also prepared. On the 21st, there will be a session to learn traditional Korean mask dance, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in traditional excitement and joy.
Additionally, the art exhibition festival ‘Yeongdeungpo Art Festa’ will be held from October 26 to November 8 at Yeongdeungpo Art Square. Visitors can see about 100 paintings and sculptural artworks by 35 artists, including local artists selected through a competition. At the opening ceremony on the 26th, a theatrical performance will be held, and there will be an experience drawing faces using pencils and colored pencils on drawing paper.
