Sangmin Lee: "Kim Dong-yeon's Corporate Card Remarks, Democratic Party Must Verify Truth"
Democratic Party Lawmaker Sangmin Lee SBS Radio Interview
Lee Sang-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 19th on SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' regarding the suspicion of misuse of the Gyeonggi Province corporate card by the wife of Governor Lee Jae-myung, "The Democratic Party should investigate the truth," adding, "The self-regulatory function had stopped during previous incidents such as the money envelope case and the coin case, which I believe is not right."
At the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee's audit on the 17th, Jeong Woo-taek, a member of the People Power Party, questioned Governor Kim Dong-yeon, "Has there been any internal audit regarding the use of the corporate card since the governor took office? A public official A from the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Secretary's Office reported to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission in August that former Governor Lee Jae-myung ordered and condoned the misuse of public funds."

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government stated, "The audit results suggest that Bae Mo is suspected of improperly using business promotion expenses."
Furthermore, regarding media reports that Governor Kim Dong-yeon requested an investigation related to the controversy over Kim Hye-kyung's corporate card use, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government clarified, "The audit and police report are matters that occurred before Governor Kim Dong-yeon's inauguration and are all untrue." The Gyeonggi Provincial Government asked the media to be cautious not to distort the facts by altering details such as the audit subject and timing with inaccurate information.
Regardless of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government's clarification, Lee Sang-min asserted, "Even if Governor Kim Dong-yeon wanted to conceal this, it is not something that can be hidden. Because it was conducted by the official auditor of Gyeonggi Province, how could the governor cover it up? It must be reported as it is, and I do not think any competitive or political considerations were involved."

Regarding Lee Jae-myung's 'trial risk,' Lee Sang-min said, "Whether under investigation or trial, considering the mental focus and physical time allocation, the performance of duties as party leader is significantly restricted and difficult," adding, "This was a sufficiently anticipated and foreseen issue, so I hope Lee Jae-myung himself reflects on whether it is appropriate to perform as party leader."
