[Breaking] US Treasury Yields Surge, New York Stock Market Closes Lower... Nasdaq Down 1.62%
The three major indices of the U.S. New York stock market all closed lower on the 18th (local time) as corporate earnings reports continued and Treasury yields surged sharply.
On that day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.98% compared to the previous session. The S&P 500, which focuses on large-cap stocks, fell 1.34%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq index dropped 1.62%.
In the New York bond market, the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury yield surpassed 4.9%, hitting its highest level since July 2007.
