'Sungshin Open Humanities' is co-hosted by the College of Humanities and Sciences, the College of Creative Convergence Liberal Arts, and the Sungshin-Im Myungseop Korean Studies Institute at Sungshin Women's University to share humanities-based thinking and life with local residents.
In this lecture, Professor Kim Hong-gi from Seoul National University spoke on the theme "The Era of Heterogeneous Convergence - Coexistence of Humans and Machines." Professor Kim addressed that the convergent and integrative development of advanced science and technology will bring greater changes to humans and society in the future, and that more creative ideas emerge when heterogeneous elements come together rather than homogeneous ones. He stated, "With the advancement of artificial intelligence, an era where humans and machines coexist has arrived," and added, "In an era where uniquely human characteristics become expertise, it is urgent to establish new humanities for collaboration and to reform educational curricula."
President Lee Seong-geun of Sungshin Women's University explained the purpose of the lecture, saying, "In a rapidly changing world and an era without boundaries in academia, heterogeneous convergence based on the humanities will help university students who must live in the future to consider what kind of life to live, what to study, and how to choose their career paths."
