Pharmaceutical Bio Association to Host '2023 Open Innovation Plaza' on the 14th of Next Month
The Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association announced on the 18th that it will hold the '2023 Open Innovation Plaza' event on the 14th of next month at the Grand InterContinental Parnas Hotel in Seoul.
This event, organized to promote domestic and international open innovation activities in the industry, is part of the 'Pharmaceutical Bio Open Innovation Week 2023,' co-hosted by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association, and the Korea Institute of Toxicology. A large number of pharmaceutical and bio companies are expected to attend.
At this event, the necessity of open innovation in the pharmaceutical and bio sectors will be emphasized, and cases of open innovation by domestic pharmaceutical companies such as Daewoong Pharmaceutical, GI Innovation, and ST Pharm will be introduced.
Additionally, a competition will be held to promote technology commercialization and investment attraction for domestic companies, providing technology value evaluation reports for promising technologies based on on-site evaluations.
Side events include the Pharmaceutical Bio Industry Technology Transaction Strategy Seminar, which introduces theory and cases of technology transactions to pharmaceutical and bio workers; the AI New Drug Development Technology Briefing titled 'Innovation in AI-based New Drug Development'; and the Academia Innovation Technology Briefing.
Technologies to be supplied for one-on-one partnering and the competition will be accepted through the association's website until the 25th.
An association official stated, "This event will serve as a networking platform encompassing pharmaceutical and bio companies, universities, hospitals, industry-academic cooperation foundations, venture capital (VC), and accelerators."

The Open Innovation Plaza, held for the first time last year, saw the participation of over 180 people and resulted in 48 successful partnerings.
